Re: Geometric Progression?

hi

As you're training to be a maths teacher you could also list the 'spin offs' to show how many ways this could be used with pupils.  Shows you've thought about it lots.

Got to sign out for a while.  Back in 30 mins.

Re: Geometric Progression?

Bob, you are a genius. big_smile

To both bob's, I really really appreciate your help with this. Geometry is a subject that I normally excel at, and as a result I feel the pressure when I just don't see any pattens or anything.

Re: Geometric Progression?

Hi amberzak;

You were on the right idea with the table idea. You can play spot the pattern with a table of data. The drawings ( sketchpad )are only for getting accurate data. This is the heart of experimental mathematics. Guess, refine, refine, refine, prove.

Re: Geometric Progression?

My tutor said I'd actually gone further with the investigation than he'd expected, so even though I didn't quite get the progressions part, it was still good enough to keep my grades in the higher section, so yay.

Re: Geometric Progression?

Hi amberzak;

Very good! It was the great Confucius who remarked that he loved teachers who spoke little and graded high.
