Dstar Puzzle

http://www.mathsisfun.com/games/dstar-puzzle.html

My current record is 388 moves to complete all 10 levels. tongue

The easiest levels are Level 1 and Level 7, each of which can be completed in under 20 moves.

Re: Dstar Puzzle

Your moves are educational!
Did 2-4 with your way.
If my arrow key is down
when I complete a round,
then the guy moves on the
next round.   My keyboard
delay setting is slow, but the
repeat rate is fast.

Re: Dstar Puzzle

In the last few days, I have managed to find faster ways of completing most of the levels, with the result that I can now complete all ten levels in just 353 moves.

(12 → 11)

(53 → 48)

(27 → 23)

(39 → 31)

(44 → 40)

No change for Level 6 (44) and Level 7 (19).

(41 → 26)

(47 → 41)

(62 → 57)

Overall:  388 → 340

I had the same problem initially and for my posts in the other thread couldn't produce the videos and the final "Well done" picture to show the lowest scores that I'd got because of that problem.

Changing the "Repeat delay" keyboard setting to its longest fixed it. I kept "Repeat rate" at its fastest and "Cursor blink rate" at one click off fastest, and also made sure of it working by giving the last key-press on the two levels where it affected the outcome a lightning-fast peck.
