English to math

Or etom for the computer scientists...

It came up on another forum that I also moderate, what words are there which are used in math which are a natural part of the English language?  So far the list is:

Name : Description

amicable : Relationship between divisors of two numbers
regular : Type of curve
smooth : Synonym of regular
normal : type of relationship between two groups
special : Integers an be expressed by a sum of 2 or more consecutive numbers
ideal : Type of ring
irrational : number
imaginary : number
square : number
cube : number
real : number
rational : number
natural : number
complex : number
associative : a(b*c) = (a*b)*c
commutes : a*b = b*a
faithful : Type of group relation
center : Type of subgroup
identity : a * i = i * a = a, where i is the identity
image : Range of a function
domain: domain of a function

Can you add to this list?

Maybe we could make sentences?

Wow, nice forum you have there, bud! And it's still active, too! Gonna register that.

Actually I never watch Star Wars and not interested in it anyway, but I choose a Yoda card as my avatar in honor of our great friend bobbym who has passed away.

Re: English to math

I liked this one:

Don’t know where to start,
Like an unreasonable math
At ease, for me,
Alert, for you
I do the pasting
You do the copying
Ready?...

The day I discovered,
That my inks are copied
I felt like crying!
Wait a minute, I said
My ink should be crying, not ‘el!

I gave my ink the crying to do
He’s been crying like he’s damned to do.
…he’s still crying,
Are you still copying?

Thanks to all the cats
To a height I’ve solved the “math”
At the top I said copy,
But now, I say happy VIEWING!
