A phone company charges $2 for the first five minutes of a phone call and 30 cents per minute thereafter. If Bill makes a phone call that lasts 25 minutes, what will be the total cost of the phone call?

Let me see.

So, $2 for the first 5 minutes.

25 minutes - 5 minutes = 20 minutes

Let 30 cents = 0.30.

Then 20 minutes x 0.30 = $6

I say $2 + $6 = $8 for the total cost of the phone call.
