Simplify this fraction:
420 / 882
Hmm, both even #'s, so half'm:
210 / 441
All digits add up to 3 or 6 or 9, so divide by 3:
70 / 147
Let's try 7, divide top and bottom by 7:
10 / 21
Hmm, I think we are done.
10 is 5 times 2 and 21 is 7 times 3, no numbers the same there...

hi, i have to do a leaflet/poster on adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions for the year below to help them remember for their Key Stage 3 curriculum. Problem: i just know the rules off by heart, i have since i was like 12 (maybe an exaggeration), does anyone know any tricks to help remember these rules. smile please reply, the homework is due next monday, the 30th June if you're in the future. (if you are, don't bother helping, i would have already handed it in.) ok. tongue
