Change in velocity? Do you mean instantenous acceleration or average?

Diagram below.  What is not clear to me is how you are supposed to express this.  (in terms of what coordinate system).

If I had this problem and no more information I would call the original vector V1 =  v.i   where i is a unit vector in that direction.  Then find V2 in terms of i and j.

ps.  Looking again at the diagram, it would probably have been better if I had put V1 going the other way so it is positive i, but too late.  I'm sure you can re-jig it yourself.  smile
