Re: Solving complicated two variable system

Hi;

Brackets are not for grouping in Mathematica, they are for functions. Change all [ to ( and all ] to ).

You have two t^2  together in the second equation?! Is that what you want?

If you post how you entered it into alpha I can run it off over here.

I will need some additional info:

1) Real roots only?

2) How many digits of precision are required.

If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.

Re: Solving complicated two variable system

I just did the solve[] command in Wolfram Alpha. And it said it couldn't interpret my input. hmm

(1) Yes, I need Rational Roots

(2) Just round it off to the thousandths...

There should be a www.mathisnotfunatallforum.com!

How about the double t^2?

Re: Solving complicated two variable system

Hi;

There is only one real root

t = -2.71978301138176263225168227044*10^-6

y = 11232.0946424110872247045682968

to 30 digits of precision. Round as you need.
