Find the perimerer and are of a right triangle if the shortest side is 16 in. and the longest side is 34 in. Include correct units with each part of the solution
Offline
The longest side will be the hypotenuse.
Use the Pythagoras theorem to find the other side.....
This link will help you understand the basics of a triangle.

let a=16,c=34
b = √(c*c-a*a) = 30
perimeter = a + b + c = 80

Hi JMUnoz;
Using the pythagorean theorem.
You get b = 30. The perimeter ia 16 + 30 + 34 = 80 inches
The area is:

Math is hard, but fun! By the way, I'm trying to study for a Hunter's High School entrance exam on January 7th. I'm in 6th grade.
P.S. 6th grade is tiring!

hi lilyflower11
To calculate the longest side you would square the sides, add then square root.
To calculate a shorter side, square the sides, subtract and then square root.
So b = sqrt (625 - 400) = 15
