ACK! The worm might be getting released tomorrow! EXLUSIVE!

I heard on the radio that a worm will be getting released tomorrow. Any one who has windows - There computer will CRASH... I think.

You are referring to Conficker I think. It is on about 9 million PCs. If you have an up-to-date XP and good anti-virus you should be safe.

Conficker is, I must say, quite unique. Of course, I feel for the people infected with this worm, but the process it does its duty is quite phenomenal, to say the least.

The worm is real enough, with news sites reporting about it and Microsite offering a $250000 reward to catch the 'author'. It's possible that it might be a hoax in that it doesn't do anything though.

My computer doesn't seem to be affected, so either the worm does nothing or I don't have it.

By the way, how is this worm spread? Is it by email or website? I don't have good computer security at the moment so what do I have to watch out for?

I don't think that test can tell for sure. I heard the worm infiltrated CBS or CNN or something and it took them 5 days 24 hours a day to find and eliminate it, and they think even now the worm may still be hiding on the system somewhere.
